Basia Bulat - "Heart of my own" - Rough Trade

C'est à l'automne 2007 que sort le premier album de Basia Bulat, déjà chez Rough Trade, intitulé "Oh, my darling".
L'album fournira matière à louanges dans la presse et surtout un support aux concerts qui la verront être plébiscitée et commencer à se faire un nom dans l'univers folk.

Le deuxième album de la Canadienne est un album mature, riche et varié.
L'alternance des morceaux lents et rapides, l'orchestration finement arrangée et la voix de Basia Bulat, voilà quelques bonnes raisons de savourer (quoiqu'une galette plastique ou vinyle doit avoir une saveur bizarre!) cet album extrêmement plaisant.

J'insiste sur la voix de Basia Bulat car à l'écouter en passant, son timbre, sa tessiture et sa technique font penser à Shakira (si! si!) jusque dans les légers trémolos.

C'est la deuxième Basia que je connais dans la musique, la précédente Basia, d'origine polonaise, officiait au chant dans les années 80 au sein du groupe (duo?) Matt Bianco.
